Bioinformatics

To ensure that researchers are able to use all pancreatic cancer data to their full potential, irrespective of any bioinformatics barriers, we are working on an interoperable research portal that will allow users to query, analyse and integrate findings from publicly-available data and experimental data generated using samples supplied from the tissue bank. Such an integrative approach will maximise the potential of collected data and will help to translate findings into personalised diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic strategies for cancer.

To achieve this, we are currently extending our well-established and highly-used Pancreatic Expression Database and equipping it with an integrated analytical layer to facilitate tailored analysis of experimental data returned using PCRFTB samples, the key pancreatic cancer-related datasets from International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), as well as Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia (CCLE) data to enhance targets validation and pharmacological testing.
