What are the possible benefits
The information we get from collaborating projects may help us in the future to develop diagnostic and monitoring tests which can be used on other patients with pancreatic diseases. However, there is no direct benefit to you from taking part in this project.
Sometimes during the course of a research project, new information becomes available about the subject that is being studied. The research on the samples may produce individual findings of clinical significance. If this happens, the PCRFTB staff will contact your hospital consultant or General Practitioner (GP, Doctor) about this. Either you Hospital Consultant or GP will then tell you about these findings and discuss with you what next steps to take and whether you want to continue in the research project. If you decide to withdraw your standard health care will continue.
